What has society come to?

I went with friends to a movie at the Regal Theater last week and was definitely not “unfazed by security changes” as your Saturday article stated about some moviegoers. While I have no problem having my purse checked, I am so much more than “fazed” that our society has come to this.
Most folks may think that they are now safe from a madman who might come in with intentions to shoot up the place, I am more concerned about the average Joe sitting there with his concealed weapon in his pocket. At what point will he get irked by a ringing cellphone or a noisy patron and decide to quiet things down? As we learn so frequently from news reports, it’s not that madman who causes most of the shooting deaths, but those who walk among us and lose their cool.
Indeed, deaths and injuries caused by firearms can be blamed on the people who want to block stringent requirements for gun ownership. For those who often say, “Guns don’t kill people, people do,” I agree with you. People against gun control are responsible for those deaths because they make it possible for unstable people to own guns. If you think it is your right to carry guns around like gunslingers of the Wild West, what happened to my right to live in a safe America where I don’t have to be searched before entering a public place?
One person’s freedom stops when it impinges on someone else’s freedom. That’s a civilized society.
