An honor to serve as Cecil supervisor

Six years ago, the people of Cecil Township elected me as supervisor. At the time, I made three promises: First, I said the township could obtain state money for the sewage project along Millers Run Road. The money reduced resident tap-in fees from $6,200 to $3,200. This was accomplished; Second, I promised I would not take health insurance provided by the township, even though I was eligible to receive it. By not taking the insurance, I saved the township $108,000 over the last six years; Third, I promised not to raise taxes. The 2016 Cecil Township budget, and the budgets for the last six years, have been balanced, with no tax increases.

Friends and supporters have asked why I didn’t seek another term as supervisor this year. Early this year, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission informed me that they would be taking my house and property for the Southern Beltway project. After living and raising my family in Cecil Township for 35 years, I will have to move. My wife and I are looking for another home in Cecil Township, but for now the future is uncertain.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as a supervisor in Cecil Township. I truly believe it is the best place in Pennsylvania to raise a family.
