People do change

Living in a country that allows for freedom of thought and vote, I can’t imagine why anyone would have contempt for their fellow citizens because of how they vote. I respect all my fellow citizens who vote, regardless of how they vote. And I respect my fellow citizens who choose not to vote. It’s their right.

The “ignore Trump and he’ll go away” mentality expressed by John Manning in his Monday letter is comparable to ignoring ISIS and thinking it will go away.

And Manning’s statement, “times change, people don’t,” is refuted by the very newspaper in which his letter appeared. On the front page, there was a story on a Marianna man who conquered drug addiction. People can change.
