It’s not high school

After reading the article in Sunday’s Observer-Reporter on how many members of our Legislature voted for both the liquor and pension reform bills because they knew that Gov. Tom Wolf would veto them, all I have to say is … really?

What is next? If they don’t get their way, are they going to hold their breaths until they turn blue, or better yet, take their votes and go home?

This is not high school, middle school, or even preschool. To vote for something just because there is a threat of a veto or because your party’s leaders tell you to vote or not vote for it is unacceptable.

Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate and the governor need to get their heads back in the game and make the tough decisions that will fix this state for the long-term. In the end, they will have made decisions that will help all their constituents, and not just the ones who paid for their offices. If they don’t, I’m sure the voters of this great commonwealth will send them to the principal’s office and expel them on Election Day.
