Don’t take someone else’s parking spot

It was with amusement that I read the story, “Boston bans saved parking spaces” in Tuesday’s Observer-Reporter.

After all the problems snow has caused in Boston, the city’s mayor is sending garbage trucks around to remove parking place savers. Yep, a person clears their car out from a ton or two of snow, then places a chair, traffic cone, golf bag or something else to hold the space. Someone else comes along, removes the placeholder and parks a car in the space. The trouble begins.

Basic human courtesy demands you do not take another snow-cleared parking space. I can imagine what would happen if that occurred in Canonsburg, after all the fuss over the saving of spots for the Fourth of July parade.
