We need a concealed-carry standard

As a disabled American veteran, I have had a concealed carry permit. In a column by Gail Collins that appeared in the Feb. 20 Observer-Reporter, she seemed to be comfortable with the fact that I am forced to break the law. I’m absolutely certain that I have violated concealed-carry laws hundreds of times, always without my knowledge, since it is impossible to know the laws regarding concealed firearms in every state and every municipality.
Collins points out that various states have vastly different procedures for issuing a gun permit. That is why we need a national standard, one that only permits qualified, trained citizens to carry a firearm, and a law that abides by the Constitution.
