Eliminate school property taxes
In this day of cyber schools, private schools and various other ways to educate children, why are the property owners of Pennsylvania still being held hostage and forced to pay taxes to support the failed public school system?
Why should we support this failed madness? Everybody who has a child in public schools should also be paying taxes. Raising the sales tax can totally eliminate the burden on property owners.
Just look at the circus in Peters Township. Property owners should have the decision-making power over where and when teacher strikes will be tolerated. Striking during the school year is a clear instance of a failed system. How can teachers and anybody associated with that ridiculous strike encumber the taxpayers with the demand for more money?
It’s time to join other states that are living in the modern world and eliminate property taxes for public schools.
