A road to nowhere
Canonsburg Town Park can now boast a new gravel road that goes nowhere, serves no purpose, was probably expensive to build, and was done at a cost of destroying a portion of the park-like ambience of the place. However, if you are in the park and dying for a drink of water, good luck finding one.
There used to be a functioning fountain up on the hill near the Galbraith ballfield, but it was ripped out while still in working order, maybe to force people to buy fountain drinks when games were being played. A brand new fountain near the Yoney pavilion lasted all of two months before the push-button mechanism broke, never to be replaced.
Soon residents will be getting a fundraising letter from Friends of the Park asking for donations. The money will probably go to buy gravel for the new useless road.
