Trump coverage is unfair
After I read the lengthy article in the Aug. 14 newspaper about GOP leaders being tired of Donald Trump, I decided to review the previous week’s editions of the Observer-Reporter to make a comparison of the stories about Trump and Hillary Clinton.
It came as no surprise to find that in eight editions, there were at least 11 disparaging articles, columns or editorials about him. There was one story that defended Clinton, and a column that referred to her “fibs.” Excuse me? Did the writer actually call them fibs?
Three of the basic rules for covering elections are:
1) Be fair and report the facts honestly and with integrity.
2) Don’t let it be so obvious that your newspaper is backing one side.
3) Hold people with power accountable for their actions.
I find your coverage to be lacking in all three.
