The amazing disgrace
After watching the latest installment of the top-rated reality show called “The Republican Debate,” I feel compelled to write this “review.”
With the mud being thrown back and forth, it was the best GOP debate yet. It topped all the others and can only be called a reality show. Maybe … “The Real Survivor”?! Or how about “The Amazing Disgrace”?!
I have to admit I am not a Republican and, if I were, I would be embarrassed and ashamed to let anyone know this year. Perhaps I’m “old school,” but what happened to decorum, respecting others, and decency among our elected officials and those in authority? As a child, I was taught it was always “the president” or “Mr. President,” “sir,” “madame,” “senator,” “congressman,” and so on. And what was once called “lying” is now known as “spin.” We won’t even go to the rude, crude, and obscene.
With the exception of Ohio Gov. John Kasich, all the other candidates are rude, crude and embarrassing. Yes, Ben Carson is another exception. However, I can only guess that on this reality show, which is more entertaining than most and only misuses the word “debate,” that Carson is a plant. My wife says he is from Pluto – yes, another planet – so he is disqualified, as he is not a “real” citizen of the United States much like, I heard it there, Sen. Ted Cruz. It’s amazing what you hear on each episode of the “Amazing Disgrace”! Remember grain storage in the pyramids?
I could go on and on, but any adult viewers must get the picture. Let’s get real. Let’s be decent. Let’s be respectful. Let’s cut out the lies, er, spin.
I’m glad to say this group does not represent me or my political party. No, I’m a proud Democrat. My party is the Democratic Party. It’s not called the Liberal Party, the Socialist Party, or the Leftist Party. Should you get tired of this reality show and desire an adult debate on the issues, I suggest tuning in to the Democratic debate unless, of course, you also want to be a part of the “Amazing Disgrace” in 2016.
