I want to thank you for the inspiring obituary on former Harlem Globetrotters star Meadowlark Lemon that appeared in the Dec. 29 edition. Wouldn’t it be nice if a poster-size copy of the obituary could be placed in every locker room of every athletic team in the country?

What a grand example he was for younger generations. I’m sure there are many athletes who always do the right thing. It would be nice to hear about more of them. There are too many articles about the bullies and the lawbreaking criminals on the major teams. They assault their wives, children and even animals.
