New Community Bank center a boost for Greene County
The Waynesburg area last week learned it is getting a welcome boost to the business community.
Community Bank announced Wednesday it is building a 22,500-square-foot consolidated operations center at the EverGreene Technology Park in Franklin Township.
This new complex will consolidate many of the back-room operations of the bank with upgraded technology. It will house its automated teller network, wealth management services and backup operations for retail and commercial banking, among numerous other functions.
About 70 employees – who previously were in other offices – will work out of the complex, meaning more people will be coming to the Waynesburg area each day for work, hopefully bolstering the traffic to small businesses. More people eating lunch at local restaurants or shopping at the many stores along High Street in Waynesburg is great news for everyone.
It’s also encouraging to see a non-energy-related business calling EverGreene Technology Park home, bringing more diversity to the office park that is quickly becoming a hotspot for development.
Community Bank’s headquarters will still remain in Carmichaels, although many of the executives work in Washington, but the new operations center shows the bank’s commitment to Greene County.
