Trump is telling the truth

As a loyal reader of the Observer-Reporter, I feel that I am fed a heavy dose of Hillary Clinton propaganda and Donald Trump-bashing on a daily basis.

What is overlooked in regards to Trump is that he is willing to take on key issues without a politically-correct spin. To be honest, is there an immigration problem? Yes. Does terrorism in the name of Islam threaten America and the world? Yes. Are there nations in the world that take advantage of us in trade? Yes.

If all of these issues do exist, why in the name of “inclusion” and “sensitivity” do we have to pretend they do not? One case in point is Trump’s suggestion that we build a wall on the border between the United States and Mexico. This is perhaps the only new idea on immigration that has been brought forth besides amnesty for the last 30 years. For elected officials to suggest we ignore federal law makes all laws subjective and arbitrary. If this is the new norm, then why should I pay taxes and obey traffic signs?

George Orwell once said, “In an age of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” Perhaps the reason why Trump seems so scary is we’ve been conditioned to lie to ourselves in the name of political correctness instead of seeing the reality that stares us in the face.
