Get rid of the parking meters
In response to the letter by Joseph Thomas in the Tuesday Observer-Reporter about parking meters in Washington, the best thing would be to get rid of them, but the city won’t because of the easy income.
Why doesn’t the city get meters like those used in Pittsburgh and other cities? A box or two on each block, you can pay cash or with a credit/debit card and there is a phone app, so you can pay by phone if it takes you longer than expected. It prints out a paper with your time information and the city would only need 25 or 30, if that.
