Eliminate archaic Electoral College
Whether or not you voted for the groper or the groper’s wife, you should be upset. The groper’s wife won the popular vote yet lost the election due to the rules of the Electoral College.
The Electoral College is the body that elects the president and vice president of the United States every presidential election. Citizens of the United States do not directly elect the president or the vice president; instead they choose “electors”, who pledge beforehand to vote for the candidate of a particular party.
The Electoral College was set up when it took too long to gather votes from the farthest regions of the country. Times have changed, and a direct electronic count of votes should eliminate the archaic Electoral College.
