Rediscovering the past
As I was reading the Monday article, “Going Live,” about customers doing business with a live employee in the digital age, I thought of myself as an inquisitive 10-year-old boy.
My family would visit relatives in Carnegie, and one of my relatives owned a business there. Very close to his business was a bank with a drive-thru window that, to a young boy, had the most magical device ever – a TV that could see and talk to me!
It was amazing, and when the teller asked me my name and repeated it I was flabbergasted. That was in the very early 1960s, so here we are, 50 years later, rediscovering the past.
