Tax money spent well
Amid all of the letters highlighting the negativity permeating our society, I would like to draw attention to the hard work and cooperation put into repairing streets in Houston.
Beginning Aug. 3 and concluding Aug. 9, Fourth and Third streets were ground down to the surface, then repaved with borders around drains and some driveways. This work was long overdue and greatly appreciated.
This is why we pay taxes. This is where our money is supposed to go – for infrastructure improvement, protective services and education. I have no problem paying my taxes when I see my roads being improved. It is a real pleasure driving on a smooth road for a change.
