A note from an Alabamian

I want to second Jim Greenwood’s letter, “Sanders offers hope,” in the Aug. 13 edition. The incompetent corporate and military people who surround President Trump exemplify Republican “principles.” The mob in Charlottesville, Va., knew Trump was on their side. The views of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders were the only bright light in the last election.

Your editorial in the same edition on Appalachia’s ills, was interesting, except you define Appalachia as “stretching from New York to Mississippi.” No! It’s from upper New England to northern Alabama.

Also, the column by the Washington Post’s Ruben Navarrette Jr. calls Attorney General Jeff Sessions an “Alabaman.” Oops! The word is “Alabamian.”
