Smoke and mirrors
The Washington County Health Center is an excellent example of government doing what it is supposed to do – provide excellent health care for our aged citizens, while accepting their meager Social Security checks as payment.
Contrary to what some would like us to believe, we are not born equal. Some are born into wealth. Some are born with lifelong health problems. Some are born smarter than others, and some are born with innate talents. Taking care of all its citizens is a basic responsibility of government. Privatizing the health center is just smoke and mirrors and will result in the end of it.
There is something wrong when a township can use impact fee money to hire a singer and buy fireworks for a celebration, and the Washington County Health Center could be sold due to lack of funds.
