Be good neighbors to gas drillers
I’m glad to see the progress happening at the Yonker well site in McDonald.
As a mother of students past, present, and future, and an alumna myself, I believe the Fort Cherry School District should embrace the opportunity to work with Range Resources. Outside air quality testing results were all within normals. I have seen only frivolous claims about the well presenting health hazards for the students and staff.
Nine years ago, Range Resources drilled the first horizontal well in Pennsylvania on my mother’s farm, which is where I grew up and continue to live and work. It’s the same place I have raised my healthy children.
I’ve had many interactions with personnel and contractors with Range Resources over the last nine years in meetings about our own property and at educational workshops they host, town hall meetings, booths they maintain at local festivals and at the county fair. I’ve seen major improvements along the way and a willingness to work with the community.
The benefits of responsible natural gas drilling to our school district, community, and region continue to grow and jobs have been created. Let’s not waste any more time slowing the progress. Let’s be good neighbors.
