Murphy listens to his constituents

Ever since Donald Trump was elected president, there has been an attempt to begin organizing campaign wars by pitting Republicans and Democrats against one another. Instead of keeping score, I would like to see the nonsense stop and both parties unite for the betterment of our country.

With that said, I do have to take issue with the unwarranted attacks recently being made against Congressman Tim Murphy, more than likely in an attempt to try to unseat him in 2018.

Murphy has an exemplary military service record. He is a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves Medical Service Corps, working on wounded-warrior cases with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. A mental health bill he championed was signed into law by President Obama and it was indeed worthy of all the praise Obama gave it.

Many of Murphy’s constituents have spoken to him and he has listened. His stellar record proves he hears our voices. He does not need to be harassed into holding a town hall meeting so disgruntled members of political group can protest and shout at him. If they really have something important to offer that is worthy of Murphy’s attention and time, then they can call or write his office to arrange a one-on-one meeting.

Murphy has always gone above and beyond the call of duty to aid any difficulties I or my friends have had, whether they are Republicans or Democrats. We have found his door to always be open for business.
