Defending the O-R
In contrast to Pam Morosky’s letter criticizing the Observer-Reporter, I am only too happy to leap to the newspaper’s defense.
It is refreshing to see a newspaper be intelligent and voice the truth during an era when lies and corruption are becoming acceptable and commonplace. Not only does television have to constantly be interrupted for breaking news about the drama of this administration, but we now also have to witness the fallout from a so-called president who won this office by telling people what they wanted to hear.
If you believe President Trump cares about some little coal town in Pennsylvania, you are sadly mistaken. The coal mines are not reopening and any border wall financed by our tax dollars will only divide us and not protect any of us. This president will fuel more wars than he will end, to the detriment of public schools, Planned Parenthood, health insurance and housing.
Any presidential nominee who does not turn over his income tax statements has something to hide. This should never have been acceptable. The firing of FBI director James Comey is proof that Trump tried to coerce him into not investigating his campaign’s ties to Russia and that, in itself, shows guilt.
This is not a president. This is a dictator.
Proud that you voted for Trump? Put away your American flag, and fly the flag of Russia. It, too, has three colors, white, blue and red. Some won’t even know the difference.
