This week is the 89th anniversary of National Businesswomen’s Week.

Business and professional women’s clubs celebrate the week by offering communities, companies and organizations an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of working women. It also offers local branches of Business & Professional Women of Pennsylvania opportunities to recognize individuals and companies that have made strides toward improving the lives of working women in our communities.

However, the mission of BPW is not complete. Today, women in the workplace continue to advocate for programs and policies that benefit all members of society, including equal pay for equal work, paid sick leave, paid family leave and equal leadership and advancement opportunities.

BPW is a leading advocacy organization for working women. The study of social, educational, economic and political issues benefits us all.

During this week, applaud the tremendous accomplishments of the women of Washington County and join them in their pursuit of justice, fairness and opportunity for all.
