Ortitay, Turzai stand up for taxpayers
Gov. Tom Wolf has been steadfast in his desire to raise taxes on all Pennsylvanians.
Since taking office, Wolf has tried to tax diapers, child care services, nursing home care, and many other items that are necessities for Pennsylvanians of all income levels. He has also pushed for an increase to the personal income tax.
It’s for these reasons that I was surprised to read a Sept. 4 letter to the editor that described lawmakers like House Speaker Mike Turzai and state Rep. Jason Ortitay as “bullies and toadies.” Wolf, along with complicit members of both parties, are the true bullies. They want to take more money from your wallet rather than doing the hard work of reforming our government to make it operate more efficiently for the people it is supposed to serve.
Certainly, Turzai, Ortitay and other lawmakers could take the easy way out, compromise on their principles, and allow the taxpayers to yet again fund the excesses of Harrisburg. Instead they are standing up for the taxpayers of Pennsylvania, and I will support them as long as they continue to do so.
