Setting the record straight on Ortitay

I’d like to set the record straight regarding Joshua Jacobs’ Sept. 4 letter to the editor about state Rep. Jason Ortitay. Although Jacobs states he’s from South Fayette Township, it appears his ideas have come from somewhere in Disneyland.

Ortitay has introduced over a dozen bills, is a part of anti-tax caucus putting in overtime on the budget and doesn’t collect per diems and doesn’t take a pension. It appears that Jacobs suffers from a severe case of Wolf-itis, where he believes the state should tax everyone and every thing in sight in order to continue to feed their public-sector union overlords, the real puppeteers of the Democratic Party.

While Wolf continues to pretend that he’s a middle-of-the-roader, most of us haven’t forgotten that he proposed the largest tax increase in Pennsylvania state history his first year in office. A major symptom of Wolf-itis is not seeing reality clearly. Pennsylvanians don’t want higher taxes, they want true pension reform, an education system that works for students and not union bosses, and an economy where jobs can thrive instead of be crushed by overzealous regulators.

State Democrats don’t have a real platform to run on, so they resort to name-calling and lies, and their noses will continue to grow larger the closer we get to 2018.
