LETTER: Was Bush eulogy lost on Trump?

Much can be said for George W. Bush’s moving eulogy for his father, George H.W. Bush. And there is much to be learned as well.

In fact, I can’t help wondering if our 45th president isn’t already thinking about how he would want to be remembered. Does President Trump want to be remembered as a cold-hearted belligerent man? Or would he prefer to be remembered as a man of decency, humility and a gentleman?

While I give Trump credit for shaking hands with the Obamas, the man has some serious work ahead for any fence-mending. But when Trump sat down, I couldn’t help but notice that his arms were tightly crossed in front of his chest – which could signal that he is closed to any peace-making and friendships. And perhaps the words of our 43rd president were totally impervious to our 45th. Time will tell.
