Words escape me when I think about the things that people can do when they put their minds to it. It doesn’t happen without hard work and planning.

With that, I’d like to commend and thank the many who made The Old-Fashioned Hallmark Christmas in Canonsburg happen Dec. 1.

I debated not going due to the rain that fell all day. But then I decided I had to. After all, this was big. Who doesn’t love Hallmark and all the things that it stands for?

Despite the inconvenience that the rain caused, a lot of people were there to enjoy and support the much-anticipated event. It was very impressive and wonderful! And it didn’t happen just by wishing for it. It took a lot of determination, enthusiasm, hard work and dedication.

Thank you to all who worked to make it become a reality. You brought a real lift and spirit into our community. It took a team of people willing to work for something that mattered and stirred up a lot of excitement. There was a definite energy that was felt by all.
