LETTER: Postal problems in Canonsburg
Where’s the Pony Express when you need it?
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds” apparently does not apply to the Postal Service with regard to delivery of mail in parts of Canonsburg around the Linden Road area while a bridge is closed.
Residents like me have received notice that for the next 10 weeks, while said bridge is under construction, we will have to pick up our mail at the post office in downtown Canonsburg. Of course, the postal patrons affected will have to access whatever alternative routes the USPS has deemed a deviation “from our line of travel” in order to get our mail. This will be a hardship to many of us who work outside the hours the post office is open, specifically weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
