LETTER Welcome home, Century Inn
Like many readers from the Washington area, I was heartbroken when Century Inn was destroyed by fire over two years ago. My husband and I have had many delightful lunch and dinner experiences there in the past. We were overjoyed when they reopened last week. We had lunch there, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was like going home again.
Megan Harrington, the owner, gracious as ever, was charming and related stories about her experiences traveling the county looking for authentic period furnishings, antiques, paintings and rugs. The food was outstanding, the service, excellent. We had our same waitress that we always had in the past. She, like many employees, have waited for the rebirth of this wonderful landmark.
While we were there, a camera crew from WQED was there to photograph and document the inn. Look for it on PBS in the near future. It should be very informative.
Welcome home, Century Inn. We missed you.
