O-R opinion pages updated
Our readers spoke, and we listened.
In response to reader surveys and input from members of our reader advisory panel, we decided to freshen the Observer-Reporter opinion pages to better reflect a more diverse audience and perspective on issues that are important to you.
In addition to the new look, the daily and weekend opinion pages will contain expanded content from new sources, such as today’s in-depth look at the Second Amendment from The Conversation, an independent, nonprofit publisher of commentary and analysis written by academics and edited by journalists.
We’ll also be bringing you feedback on local issues from our digital audience. Every week, we will pose a question to our Facebook friends on an important local issue and share some of the best responses in our new Readers React column. And in the coming week, we will be rolling out a new feature, “Hits & Misses,” short takes on some of the key issues making headlines in our community and beyond.
We will continue to bring you commentary from syndicated and local columnists as well as hard-hitting editorials from members of our editorial board. And we continue to encourage readers to share their opinions by submitting letters to the editor as we seek to provoke a civil and informed debate on our opinion pages.
Tell us what you think of our new look and content. Drop an email to Liz Rogers, executive editor, at lrogers@observer-reporter.com.
