Gov. Wolf on the right track regarding budget

I have written several letters over the years complaining about the problem we have, year after year after year, passing a state budget on time. Lo and behold, somebody has finally proposed that something be done.
In the March 13 edition of the O-R, it was reported that Governor Wolf is proposing that the governor, all lawmakers, and all top aides have their pay suspended and frozen if the state budget is not finished on time. That suspension would last until the budget is passed.
I would have gone a step further and proposed that none of those people could leave Harrisburg for any reason until the budget is passed, but you have to begin someplace.
We should forget about politics and parties and give the governor a huge pat on the back. Finally somebody in Harrisburg has given some thought to the voters and not just themselves. It should be obvious to all of us that this absurdity cannot be allowed to continue.
We should also monitor our local legislators to determine who has the guts, and the moral fiber, to support this proposal. If any legislator does not get behind this idea, which is obviously beneficial, at least to the voters, we should vote them out of office at the very first opportunity.
