LETTER: Regulation would put burden on charities
Based on past op-ed pieces Gary Stout has written, it’s not hard to see that he is a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat, but his latest article (Oct. 7) really takes the cake.
Stout wants to see all charities regulated so they won’t send out so many requests for contributions because they take advantage of senior citizens.
It is typical of the Democratic Party to want to regulate just about everything in our daily lives. Seems that Americans need to be protected from the evil charities.
Isn’t it up to the individual to research a charity to make sure the charity is legitimate before giving your hard-earned dollars?
If charities are regulated, as Stout suggests, it will put a burden on the resources charities use to help those in need.
Remember that old saying, “A fool and his money are soon parted.”
