Each week, the Observer-Reporter asks Facebook friends to respond to a question about an issue in the news. This week, we asked: “What are your thoughts on Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, who admitted to – and apologized for – appearing in racist photos in his college yearbook?”
Jerry Hickman: What I find more appalling is his statement on full-term abortion!
Andrea Caldwell: I am more appalled by his promotion of full-term abortions than anything he did in high school or college.
Steve McCullough: Different set of rules for conservatives … just ask Judge Kavanaugh …
Linda Rush: I think what he did was in very poor taste, but it wasn’t against the law, so I don’t think he should step down.
Mary Ellen Kania: I believe in statute of limitations for right and left. And this blackface thing was something people did in the past before everyone got offended. My biggest concern is they are covering up the real issue of him wanting late-term abortions. That is the only reason I want him out of office!
Evonne Morman: None of this stuff came up when they were campaigning for these positions, so why all the hoopla now? Until this is investigated and proven, let these men do the jobs they were elected for.
James Ashmore: That was years ago. People change
Sara Scull: Who cares? So everyone that has gone to college are all good, did no wrong, kids! Not!
Kate Carpenter: An “empathetic healer” who kills NEWBORNS. #resign
Geri Beal: Nit picking!
Brenda Neckerman: I’m appalled that everyone is so focused on the black face episode and not more concerned about the fact that he’s OK with and supports killing babies.
