Pa. lawmaker: nice job if you can get it
If our state representatives worried more about our highways and less about the Internet we’d be better off. Patching holes is a joke. They need to be repaved! It’s like riding on a washboard.
Also, when are they going to vote to give the Pennsylvania retirees a cost of living adjustment? The representatives’ answer to this is, “Our COLA was voted on, and we received it automatically.” Well, vote again and give your COLA to the retirees who earned it more so than you have. Most of these retirees worked their butts off – they didn’t sit on them all day or take extended vacations. You get automatic raises; retirees don’t, so why do you need a COLA?
According to what I have read, a representative can retire after two years and get a large pension. Pennsylvania has one of the highest annual salaries for a representative, and why do we need so many? The base pay is $87,180, while the same position pays $15,630 in Rhode Island. Only one other state pays a higher salary to its representatives and that is California. See where our taxes are going? Not roads!
And remember when our taxes were going to be paid by gambling revenues? Just one of the many lies that spew from their mouths.
We don’t need 253 legislators in Pennsylvania who are paid 12 months per year and are off for at least three of them.
Nice job if you can get it.
