Fact: Pennsylvania has the third-highest public university tuition in the United States.
Fact: Most of Pennsylvania’s state-run universities are suffering form significantly declining enrollment.
Fact: Twenty states already offer tuition-free community college educations, with several more considering the program.
Fact: Community colleges are staffed mostly by adjunct professors. Pennsylvania state universities staff a sizable proportion of adjunct professors.
Is there something wrong with this picture?
Conclusion: Pennsylvania is not doing such a hot job managing its public university education system.
The time has come to look at tuition-free community colleges for Pennsylvania students.
