LETTER: Much ado about potholes

This letter is in response to the April 1 submission, “Beware of potholes.”
I believe every registered voter is aware of this being an election year, and potholes are not exclusive to the city of Washington. We live in Southwestern Pennsylvania, which has weather conditions that produce potholes faster than rabbits reproduce. That said, how can some people assume that every type of road condition is a direct result of the municipality or borough in which they live? A prime example is Third Street in the city of Washington, which is the result of a waterline improvement project. And the intersection of Jefferson Avenue (a state road) and Wylie Avenue is a project that the state Department of Transportation has on the books for total reconstruction between the eastbound and westbound ramps of Interstate 70 on Jefferson and Wylie avenues.
All of this information is no secret and would be passed on to anyone, providing they just make a phone call rather that seek out their 10 minutes of fame by having their name appear at the bottom of a frivolous letter to the editor.
