LETTER: Make new housing in Monessen bigger

Make new housing in Monessen bigger
I read with interest the article about Monessen anticipating some new housing (May 15). The idea is good, but I believe that their housing model is wrong. The houses that they are contemplating to build will end up being more like apartments, not real sustainable housing. Slab-built homes are not an attractive choice nor is the size. Houses should be at least 1,200 to 1,400 square feet, especially if they are being built on a slab. I think Mr. (Jamie) Protin and Monessen City Council should push for larger-sized housing to make them attractable for families.
