LETTER: Democracy alive and well

Kent James’ op-ed published in the Dec. 4 edition, “Trump’s baseless attacks on voting have weakened faith in our democracy,” is well-reasoned. However, democracy as practiced in the United States is not weakened. The president’s attacks on the outcome of the election have diverted resources; e.g., the courts. Nevertheless, as with Richard Nixon, the system worked: It finished him.
