LETTER: In response to columnist

This letter is in response to syndicated columnist Patrick Buchanan’s March 1 op-ed, “Did the U.S. provoke the war in Ukraine?” 

First, none of the NATO member nations was coerced into membership. There is no record of troops assaulting any NATO member.

Second, Mr. Buchanan’s reasoning is tantamount to accusing a southbound driver of causing an accident created when a northbound driver operating under the influence crosses the center line resulting in a head-on collision.
