Despite all the laments from business and homeowners along Chartiers Creek, there is basically nothing that can be done to stop it from flooding along its floodplain.

All the county studies cannot prevent this. The problem stems from overdevelopment. Local governments allowed it over many years to increase tax revenue.

This stream is huge, stretching from South Franklin Townshio. to the Ohio River in Pittsburgh. They can do all the cleanup along the stream they want, but flooding will still occur every time we get a heavy rain. To pretend there is anything to be done to prevent this flooding is just foolishness.
