After viewing the last two meetings of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, I felt compelled to write this letter.
The public comment portion of the meeting has been mostly on ballot curing, and I agree voters should be contacted if there is a problem with their ballots. What are the two Republican commissioners, Nick Sherman and Electra Janis, afraid of?
If Washington County Republicans are so afraid of what the election results are going to be in November, how were the elections dishonest when Republicans took the county’s row offices in the last two elections?
Melanie Ostrander, Washington County’s elections director, has spoken many times at meetings of the commissioners and explained again and again the election process. The county’s elections office is doing its job. Why don’t the two Republican commissioners do their job and work for the people and not the party?
