Trinity elevates its game, wins division in Florida

Trinity had a successful trip to the KSA Classic in Orlando, Fla., winning three games and a division title.

The Hillers received a game-high 21 points from Christian Koroly and defeated Elevation Academy of Sarasota, Fla., 67-45, Saturday afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Trinity went 3-0 in the event to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Koroly, who was named the Most Valuable Player in the division, scored 21 points in the first half, when Trinity raced to a 33-15 lead.

The Hillers had balanced scoring throughout the game. Jared Deep scored 17 points and Burton Miller followed with 13.

Elevation Academy did not have a player score in double figures.

Trinity begins Section 4-AAAA play Tuesday night at home against Mount Lebanon.

Hampton 65, Peters Township 36: Undefeated Hampton made 11 three-point field goals and rolled to a 65-36 victory over Peters Township in the PBS Holiday Festival in Aliquippa.

Ryan Luther led a balanced scoring attack for Hampton (5-0) with 14 points and three baskets from three-point range. David Huber followed with 12 points and John Floss had 11. The Talbots took control fo the game early, building a 35-12 lead by halftime.

Gabe Pritz scored nine points for Peters Township (2-3).

Beaver 63, Canon-McMillan 49: Beaver moved to 4-0 with a 63-49 victory over Canon-McMillan in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Holiday Special.

Anthony DiNuzzo scored a game-high 23 points and Corey Naismith added 16. Austin Logan chipped in with 13.

Girls results

Fort Cherry 54, Monessen 28: Jenna Lucas had 18 points to help propel Fort Cherry to a 54-28 victory over Monessen in a non-section game.

Rachel Bellhy had 18 points and nine rebounds and Tina Bellhy four points and 14 rebounds for the Rangers (3-1).

Mariah Ward had 21 points for the Greyhounds (0-3).

California 50, Ellis School 36: Courtnee McMasters scored 18 points to help send California to a 50-36 victory over the Ellis School in a non-section game.

Natalie Baron chipped in with 13 points as the Trojans won their fourth straight game.

Welland Centennial 80, Chartiers-Houston 50: Bridgett Atkinson scored 34 points to send Welland Centennial past Chartiers-Houston, 80-50, in the Disney Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Elizabeth Holmes and her sister, Sarah, each scored 12 points for Welland Centennial from Canada.

Ashley Balzer paced Chartiers-Houston (3-2) with 19 points and her sister, Amanda, scored 12 points.
