Jeff Isom has been hired as the new manager of the Frontier League’s Lake Erie Crushers. Isom succeeds John Massarelli, who was not re-hired.

Both Isom and Massarelli are former managers of the Wild Things.

Isom was Washington’s original manager when the franchise was moved from Canton, Ohio. He spent the 2002 and ’03 seasons with the Wild Things, winning one division title, making the playoffs twice and advancing to the league finals in 2002.

Isom left Washington for another independent league in 2004, then returned to the Frontier League in 2006 as manager of the Traverse City Beach Bums. For the last six years, Isom has been a manager in the Milwaukee Brewers’ farm system.
