Lalich leads Cal to win

Peter Lalich made a return from a four-game hiatus because of a staph infection in his knee to throw four touchdowns and lead California University to a 56-28 victory over Millersville Saturday in a PSAC crossover game.

Lalich completed 17 of 27 passes for 270 yards and found Mike Williams for three of his touchdown passes. Williams, who had nine receptions for 153 yards, had touchdown grabs of six, nine and 39 yards for the Vulcans (8-3).

Terrell Roberson returned the opening kickoff 95 yards as Cal built a 21-7 lead after one quarter and 42-7 bulge at halftime. Tailback Lamont Smith had 83 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. Jeff Knox also had a TD run.

Mike Jones had 11 catches for 122 yards for Millersville (2-9) and Ian Sadon rushed for 102 yards and scored twice.
