NEW YORK (AP) — Talib Zanna had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help Pittsburgh bounce back from a loss to No. 4 Michigan by beating Delaware 85-59 Friday in the consolation game of the NIT Season Tipoff.

Lamar Patterson had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers (5-1), and Tray Woodall added 13 points and seven assists.

Devon Saddler scored 28 points for Delaware, but the Blue Hens fell behind by 21 in the first half. Even switching to full-court pressure couldn’t do much to hold back the Panthers, who relied on superior size and a 10-man rotation.

The Blue Hens (2-3) still have a nonconference game against Duke to navigate before getting to the Colonial Athletic Association schedule, where they are likely to contend for the league title.

Pitt should be favored to remain unbeaten before the Big East opener against Cincinnati Dec. 31.
