EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips and defensive tackle Rocky Bernard have been ruled out for today’s game in Dallas against the Cowboys. The Giants announced the move Saturday and said the starters will not make the trip to Dallas. Phillips (knee) and Bernard (quadriceps) were hurt against the Philadelphia Eagles and have missed the last three games. Jaguars promote quarterback: The Jacksonville Jaguars promoted quarterback John Parker Wilson from the practice squad and activated defensive end John Chick from the physically-unable-to-perform list. The team also waived rookie linebacker Brandon Marshall, a fifth-round draft pick, and veteran offensive lineman Herb Taylor Saturday. Adding Wilson could mean the Jaguars are uncertain about the status of starter Blaine Gabbert for Sunday’s game at Green Bay. Gabbert is probable with an injured nonthrowing shoulder. Chad Henne had been the team’s only backup quarterback. Wilson had been on the practice squad all season. Falcons activate Peters: The Atlanta Falcons activated defensive tackle Corey Peters from the reserve injured list Friday. Peters, a third-round draft pick in 2010, has started 30 of 31 career games for Atlanta. He has been sidelined since May because of a stress fracture in his left foot. Peters is likely to work behind Peria Jerry when the Falcons (6-0) visit Philadelphia (3-3) today. Atlanta waived cornerback Terrence Johnson to make room for Peters on the 53-man roster.
