The potential impact of Hurricane Sandy has caused several changes to local sports schedules. The WPIAL has postponed all soccer, volleyball and field hockey playoffs originally scheduled for today and rescheduled them for Wednesday. The original sites and start times will be used. In boys soccer semfinals, Peters Township and Canon-McMillan meet in Class AAA at Baldwin (8 p.m.), and South Fayette will play Quaker Valley at Hopewell (8 p.m.). The Peters Township girls play Gateway at Baldwin (6 p.m.). In girls volleyball quarterfinals, Peters Township will play North Allegheny at Chartiers Valley (7:30 p.m.) in Class AAA. South Fayette faces Mars at North Hills (6 p.m.) in Class AA, and Chartiers-Houston plays top-seeded Greensburg Central Catholic at Baldwin (6 p.m.) in Class A. The Meadows also has canceled its Tuesday afternoon card. Racing is scheduled to resume Wednesday with first post at 6:55 p.m.
