Sophomore running back Jimmy Duchi rushed for a career-high 336 yards and five touchdowns Wednesday night as McGuffey High School closed its football season with a 41-20 victory over host Laurel Highlands in a non-conference game.Duchi scored on runs of 60 and five yards in the first half, then helped the Highlanders pull away by scoring from 42 and 57 yards in a three-minute span of the third quarter. He finished the scoring with a two-yard touchdown with 9:49 remaining.The 336 yards pushes Duchi’s season total past the 1,500-yard mark for the season.McGuffey rushed for 420 yards against the Mustangs.McGuffey (5-5) trailed 7-6 after one quarter and didn’t take the lead for good until Steve Clemens intercepted a LH pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown late in the second quarter. Clemens’ TD gave McGuffey a 21-14 lead. It was one of three interceptions by the McGuffey defense. Kendrick Reed and Adam Marrigan also intercepted passes.Laurel Highlands ended the season with a 1-9 record.
