Jared Beach hit a bases-loaded double with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to give Canon-McMillan a dramatic 12-11 victory over Upper St. Clair in a Section 5-AAAA game.
Brandon Kildare had a two-run home run and drove in three for C-M (2-0, 4-4). Frank Fortunato hit a solo home run.
Gannon Rooney had a three-run home run for USC (0-2, 4-4). Eric Krolczyk doubled and drove in three.
• Kyle Witzberger allowed only a first-inning single to Josh Miller, striking out 12, as Fort Cherry defeated error-prone Beth-Center, 16-0, in a five-inning Section 2-AA game.
John Findling doubled for the Rangers (4-0, 4-2), who took advantage of 11 errors by the Bulldogs (2-2, 2-3).
• Jason Bigler’s RBI single in the top of the seventh gave Burgettstown a 12-11 victory over Charleroi in a Section 2-AA game. Kurt Kowlaski went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Blue Devils (1-3, 2-3). John Dugas had two hits.
• Matt Carcella had three hits, including a solo home run for Charleroi (0-4, 1-6). Gunnar Riley went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.
• Jefferson-Morgan scored 14 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 19-6 victory from West Greene in a Section 1-A game. Logan Bowman had a grand slam and drove in five runs for JM (1-1, 3-2). Jason Dotts went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Dylan Davis was 2-for-3, scored twice and drove in two runs.
Zach Bedillion had a two-run single for West Greene (0-2, 1-4).
• Willie Ziefel went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBI to power Waynesburg to an 11-1 win over McGuffey in a five-inning Section 3-AAA game.
Aaron Hill went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI for the Raiders (1-1, 1-4). Colton Lippencott went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Patrick Frey had an RBI single for the Highlanders (0-2, 1-5).
• Josh Mundell tripled and Tommy Shoaf doubled as Carmichaels topped Avella, 13-3, in a five-inning Section 1-A game.
Cory Fuller picked up the win for Carmichaels (2-0, 5-1).
Walt Kopko took the loss, while Santino Paris doubled for Avella (1-1, 4-1).
• Pinch-runner Josh Larimer scored on Phil Mary’s single in the bottom of the seventh, ending a 13-inning scoreless streak for Peters Township and lifting the Indians to a 1-0 Section 5-AAAA win over Brashear.
Max Augustein allowed just two hits, striking out six with no walks, for Indians (1-1, 6-2). Phil Pisarcik doubled for Peters Township.
Chris Hawkins took the loss for Brashear (0-2, 2-3), allowing just six hits.
