Waynesburg baseball player J. Jay Puskert was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week after recording complete-game victories in two of the Yellow Jackets’ three wins this week. He went 2-0 with a 1.93 earned-run average of 14 innings, giving up a total of three earned runs.

• Washington & Jefferson College third baseman Sadie Marak was selected as the PAC Softball Hitter of the Week after she hit .588, recording 10 hits in 17 at-bats during a 4-2 week for the Presidents. In 12 innings, Bashada had seven strikeouts and held opponents to a .250 batting average.

• The California University baseball team had a pair of honorees: Justin Taylor was named the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week, while Kyle Petty was recognized as the PSAC West Hitter of the Week. Taylor tossed his third straight complete-game shutout this past Saturday against Gannon. He needed just 70 pitches in the game, finishing with no walks and five strikeouts. He also recorded a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .619 on-base percentage.

He ran on the Yellow Jackets’ first-place 4×100 relay team and was a part of the 4×400 team that finished third.

• Rhea Huwe was named the PAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 100 and 200 dashes, as well as the long jump. Huwe set the meet record in the 100 meters with a time of 12.63 seconds. She also ran on the second-place 4×100 relay team.
